The Knight’s inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan officially endorsed

Image
The Knight is pleased to share an exciting development in our Reconciliation journey – our inaugural Reflect Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) has been officially endorsed. RAPs are like a roadmap, assisting businesses to embed meaningful reconciliation activities into their operations across three key pillars of relationships, respect and opportunities. The four RAP types (Reflect, Innovate, Stretch and Elevate) are designed to suit organisations at different stages of their reconciliation journey. A Reflect RAP is all about engaging with staff and leaders in understanding the importance of reconciliation, developing relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stakeholders and scoping where our organisation can best have impact. While The Knight have taken some strides over recent years, we are proud to have our commitment formalised through the endorsement of this RAP and look forward to the next 12 months of building strong foundations in this space. Giving babies the best start in life with St Kilda Mums

Image
On Monday 22 April 2024, members of The Knight team were proud to spend the day volunteering with St Kilda Mums to support the incredible work that they do. St Kilda Mums receives requests from Maternal Child Health nurses and social workers on behalf of families in need, aiming to meet or exceed each request with quality new or pre-loved donations. The organisation gives to people who are facing a variety of challenges, hoping they feel uplifted and supported when they receive the donation. The day was an eye-opening and inspiring experience. The St Kilda Mums warehouse is an impressive operation, receiving large volumes of donations daily, and expertly processing, cleaning and sorting all they receive to ensure everything a family is gifted is in ‘as-new’ condition and appropriate for their needs. Our team worked hard on cleaning and preparing donations of car seats, prams, highchairs, clothing and toys ready to be rehomed. A far cry from our usual office days and sit...

The Future of Window & Façade cleaning arrives in Australia

The Knight team were lucky enough to attend a demonstration with FAMASO last month, the facilities service company which has secured the Australian rights to Norwegian technology KTV Working Drones. Taking place in South Melbourne, the FAMASO team showed us the speed and ease in which a varied building exterior could be cleaned utilising pressurised water up to 80 degrees, getting as close as 1-1.5m from the surface, and even combatting winds up to 30km per hour. These cutting-edge drones represent a breakthrough in the cleaning industry, able to clean both glass and facades, while minimising the risk, time and issues of access inherent in traditional façade cleaning. Powered by rechargeable batteries, using minimal water and with no harsh chemicals required, the KTV Working Drone also reveals a more sustainable alternative, all the while maintaining asset value and standard. FAMASO is the first company in Australia to be granted a Window & Façade Cleaning drone licenses ...

Stamping out unscrupulous practices in OC (Strata) Management

Image
A statement from The Knight’s Managing Director, Gregor Evans. Many will have seen the media reporting over the past 24 hours regarding some of the unscrupulous practices which can unfortunately exist within the Owners Corporation (Strata) management industry. Reporting of this nature is a blow to many in the industry, the overwhelming majority of whom are hardworking, honest professionals, proud of the work that they do to protect and better the communities under their care. Firstly, to alleviate any concerns our clients may be feeling, I’d like to share a few reminders (all of which we outline clearly on our website and in our proposals and are proud to claim as true since our inception): With integrity one of our core pillars, we have never engaged in unconscionable conduct with Owners Corporation service providers We have never received any commission or kickback from Owners Corporation service providers except at times for the receipt of a fai...
